Volunteer Training

  • When: Thursdays, Sept. 2 - Sept. 30, 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Where: First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro

Anyone who would like to provide support to those who are journeying through the final phase of life and to their caregivers, is invited to attend. This a an opportunity to explore the possibility of serving as a part of our caring team at Home Hospice performing those tasks that a loving friend or caring neighbor might for someone who is ill, and to learn a great deal about the life and living that is possible during this important part of our journey.

The training is free, but registration is requested in order that adequate materials be prepared. Individuals are encouraged to attend even if they are unsure of their desire to become a volunteer – there is much to learn.

Volunteer Legacy Training

A three-session training workshop for volunteers who want to learn how to be Legacy volunteers will be conducted by Sherry Little, Executive Director and Dr. Jerry Lincecum, retired Austin College English Professor. 

  • Dates: Monday, October 4, Thursday, October 7, Monday, October 11
  • Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m. (A light supper served from 5-5:30 p.m.)
  • Location: First United Methodist Church, 122 S. Union Street in Whitesboro

The Last Walk: A training seminar for pastors & pastoral care lay representatives

Camp Dragonfly 2010

Camp Dragonfly is a community-based grief camp for children and adolescents who have suffered the death of a close loved one.

  • When: October 8 - 10, 2010
  • Where: All Saints Camp on Lake Texoma in Pottsboro, Texas

A program to help you connect with your loved one, no matter where you are. Whispers from Home is a program in which family and friends may call into a toll free number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and record a message to a loved one.
