Caregiver Classes

This class will help you know what to expect and reduce your fears and uncertainties as a caregiver.  You do not have to have a loved one on hospice to attend.  Learn how to best take care of your loved one and hear from professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains.  They will cover several topics including physical care, care of the caregiver, emotional and spiritual concerns, questions to ask your physician, and more.  This program is FREE but we ask that you call to register so that adequate materials might be prepared.

PBS Frontline – Being Mortal and Healthcare Directive Planning Workshops

Talking to others and asking the right questions about end- of life wishes can feel awkward and uncomfortable. Questions such as what would you want in regards to  being resuscitated, do you want to be an organ donor, who do you want to make your decisions for you if you cannot – are all questions that we as family members should know about those we love – and they should know about us.

Advance medical planning allows you, your family and physicians to discuss your desires, and to direct and provide the type of care you want.   Knowing what you need to do as well as having ‘the conversation’ with family and friends provides the most control over your own future and reduce the challenges faced in difficult times.  To hear a presentation over “The Great Conversation” or attend our “Being Mortal – PBS Frontline presentation” call Nancy Jackson at 903-868-9315.
